Global Textile Leaders Unite at GTTES 2025

Mumbai, 1st March 2025: The Indian International Textile Machinery Exhibitions Society (India ITME Society) has officially inaugurated the Global Textile Technology & Engineering Show (GTTES) 2025 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, NESCO, Goregaon (East), Mumbai. Running from 21st to 23rd February, this milestone event in India’s textile industry began with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing progress and global collaboration in textile machinery.

A Hub for Innovation & Collaboration

Chairman Mr. Ketan Sanghvi and members of the India ITME Society Steering Committee emphasized GTTES 2025’s role as a technology hub. With 39 participating countries and 210 exhibitors, the event fosters networking, learning, and business collaborations. The textile industry contributes 13% of India’s industrial production, 2.3% of GDP, and 12% of foreign exchange inflows, making GTTES a crucial platform for textile machinery manufacturers.

Mrs. Roop Rashi Mahapatra praised Mumbai’s leadership in technology-driven urban development and highlighted the role of key stakeholders, including the Textile Committee, SBI Foundation, and NIFT, in making this event a success.

Dr. Kailash Shinde stressed the importance of sustainability in textiles. He noted that Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Reliance Industries, and other partners are leading a pilot project to tackle textile waste, a growing global concern, with an annual generation of 2.4 kilotons of textile waste from just one million people.
