The 39th edition of the Garment Technology Expo (GTE 2026), South Asia’s leading exhibition for garment manufacturing technology, has been inaugurated at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida, Delhi-NCR. The four-day event brings together the entire apparel production ecosystem, reinforcing its importance as a hub for innovation, efficiency, and global competitiveness.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of prominent industry leaders, including Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman of India Exposition Mart Limited, along with key representatives from apparel export bodies and manufacturing companies.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rakesh Kumar highlighted GTE’s role as a crucial platform for showcasing advanced technologies that can transform the garment value chain. Industry experts emphasised that such platforms are essential for accelerating technology adoption and strengthening the global position of the apparel sector.
GTE 2026 features more than 200 exhibitors representing over 650 brands, with an expected footfall exceeding 15,000 trade visitors. The exhibition presents a comprehensive range of solutions, including advanced machinery, CAD/CAM systems, digital textile printing, finishing technologies, trims, accessories, and next-generation production innovations.
This year’s edition is further supported by the Ministry of Textiles and has received MSME approval, enabling small and medium enterprises to benefit from government-backed opportunities, networking, and technology adoption initiatives.
A key highlight of the event is the strong focus on AI-powered automation technologies, which are increasingly seen as a game changer for garment manufacturing. These intelligent systems aim to enhance productivity, improve precision, and optimise operational efficiency across production units.
The event is complemented by the co-located Lace & Trims Show 2026, offering a dedicated platform for accessories, labels, embellishments, and allied services. Together, both shows provide a complete sourcing destination for the apparel manufacturing value chain.
Industry leaders also pointed out that despite global challenges such as tariffs and market slowdowns, the current landscape presents an opportunity for innovation and strategic growth.
Adding further value, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is presenting trend forecasts, offering insights into the future of apparel production and design.
GTE 2026 will run until March 23, bringing together innovation, collaboration, and business opportunities for the global garment industry.
