Frankfurt am Main, January 2025. For the 2026 edition, Heimtextil introduces a new product category. The world’s premier home and contract textile trade show in Frankfurt gives non-textile floor coverings a new home: “Flooring & Equipment” perfectly complements the current portfolio with Carpets & Rugs and provides an alluring addition for a variety of visitor target groups as well as important new contacts. Heimtextil has once again established itself as the global hub for the whole textile and non-textile interior design industry with the opening of the new area.

What is the connection between a textile trade show and non-textile floor coverings? The solution is that they provide a comprehensive interior design purchasing experience. As a result, starting in 2026, Flooring & Equipment will enhance Heimtextil’s wide range of products. Floors without a textile framework are the main focus. These include of outdoor floor coverings, cork flooring, laminate, parquet and other types of wooden flooring, designer and luxury vinyl tiles, and elastic floor coverings. In Frankfurt, Flooring & Equipment provides the industry with a customized variety on a set date. Heimtextil, the world’s premier trade show for textile design and home and contract textiles, offers a global market overview for the whole interior design industry. From wallpaper and curtains to carpets and non-textile floor coverings, purchasers may find the entire selection of premium goods, trends, and interior ideas for both the house and the contract business here.

“We are continuously collaborating with the industry to expand Heimtextil into a worldwide platform of ideas and solutions for the whole interior design industry.” Non-textile floor coverings are a great complement to Heimtextil’s current product line and appeal to new markets, like specialty floor-covering stores. According to Margit Herberth, Director of Heimtextil, “the industry also benefits from efficient synergies between product segments and numerous new contacts thanks to the direct link to Carpets & Rugs.” Additionally, Flooring & Equipment caters to the interests of current visitor target groups in a more focused way, including garden centers, DIY and home improvement stores, room and object furnishers, designers and decorators, (interior) architects, wholesalers, and retailers. The worldwide carpet industry is now based in the lucrative Carpets & Rugs product category. The appropriate target groups for Flooring & Equipment at Heimtextil are already served by the robust growth area. In terms of both product categories and placement within the exhibition grounds, the non-textile floor coverings sector is right next to the carpet segment. The new product line blends in perfectly with the Messe Frankfurt Exhibition Center’s Heimtextil 2026 hall layout. According to Bettina Bär, Director of Heimtextil, “We optimize the visitor target groups’ routes in order to guide them efficiently and purposefully to the existing range.” A top-notch content package for the worldwide carpet and floor covering industry will also be available.

Heimtextil takes place from 13 to 16 January 2026.
