Heimtextil 2026 opened in Frankfurt with strong momentum, welcoming around 3,000 exhibitors from 66 countries, reinforcing its position as the world’s leading trade fair for home and contract textiles. Despite ongoing global economic and geopolitical uncertainties, the fair demonstrated stability while expanding its international reach and strengthening its role as a global business and knowledge hub.

The revised hall layout for 2026 has been designed to improve navigation and visibility, enabling faster and more effective connections between suppliers and buyers. The exhibition presents a comprehensive range of textile and non-textile interior solutions, including decorative fabrics, upholstery, bedding, bath textiles, carpets, wallpaper, and innovative flooring solutions.

A key highlight of the opening was the design dialogue featuring renowned architect and designer Patricia Urquiola, in conversation with Rosa Bertoli, Global Design Director of Wallpaper magazine. Their discussion explored the impact of artificial intelligence, emerging materials, and experimental processes on the future of interior design and modern living spaces.

Patricia Urquiola unveiled her exclusive Heimtextil installation, “among-all”, an immersive design environment showcasing textiles as intelligent, transformative materials. The installation blends regenerated nylon, textile waste, and bio-based materials into a dynamic ecosystem where visitor movement interacts with AI-driven spatial elements, redefining how people engage with interiors.

Heimtextil 2026 further strengthens its industry focus through dedicated hubs such as Smart Bedding, Sleep & Meet, and the expanded Carpets & Rugs segment, now spanning four hall levels. Knowledge exchange takes centre stage across the Texpertise Stage, Talk Spots, and Trend Arena, where the Heimtextil Trends 26/27 theme, “Craft is a verb”, highlights the convergence of traditional craftsmanship and advanced technologies.

Running from 13–16 January 2026, Heimtextil continues to serve as a strategic platform for innovation, networking, and future-oriented growth across the global textile and interior design ecosystem.
