Following the Home Textile Exporters’ Welfare Association (HEWA)’s Anant Srivastava and Vikas Singh Chauhan-led Indian delegation’s successful attendance at ASD Market Week in Las Vegas, USA, the two met with Hon’ble Textile Minister Shri Giriraj Singh on August 27, 2024, at Udyog Bhawan in New Delhi.
Anant Srivastava, President of HEWA, spoke about the new orders and inquiries received at the briefing, as well as the positive welcome Indian home textile items received at ASD Market Week.
The team underlined the strategic significance of foreign engagements in promoting India’s textile exports as well as the growing demand for “Made in Bharat” products in the USA.
Shri Giriraj Singh has also been invited by Mr. Srivastava to attend the 2nd International Home Textile Summit, which is set for September 23, 2024, as the Chief Guest. Inaugurating the summit with the theme “Unlock the Potential of the Home Textile Industry,” he asked Shri Giriraj Singh to share information about the government’s support for textile exporters and manufacturers.
The delegation’s achievements were applauded by Shri Giriraj Singh, who also reiterated the Ministry of Textiles’ dedication to fostering the expansion of the Indian textile industry. Recognizing HEWA’s contribution to the promotion of Indian MSMEs abroad, he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to realizing Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s $5 trillion economic objective.
This involvement is in line with the International Cooperation Scheme of the Ministry of MSME, which attempts to promote global partnerships and increase market access for MSMEs in India. The trip was led by HEWA, an organization committed to defending the rights of small and medium-sized exporters in the Indian textile industry.
A common goal of bolstering India’s standing in the international textile industry and expanding the reach of Indian MSMEs abroad was reached at the end of the meeting.
