The current interest rate environment continues to support India’s housing market, according to Pradeep Aggarwal, Founder and Chairman of Signature Global (India) Ltd.

Aggarwal said stable borrowing costs are helping genuine homebuyers make more confident purchase decisions. The company has also seen strength in enquiries, site visits and conversions.

End-user demand supports housing market

According to Aggarwal, housing demand is increasingly driven by end-users. Buyers are seeking homes for their own use rather than relying on speculative activity.

He said this trend provides a sustainable base for the housing sector. Stable demand can also support continued activity across residential real estate.

Interest rate stability remains important

Aggarwal noted that rising inflation creates a delicate situation for the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC). He said a stable policy environment could give homebuyers greater certainty over borrowing costs.

Stable interest rates may also support housing-linked industries. These include steel, cement, employment and consumer spending.

Aggarwal said Signature Global remains confident about the long-term growth prospects of Indian real estate.
