India increases duty drawback rates for linen textiles.

India has raised duty drawback rates for cotton and blended fiber bed linen, table linen, and toilet linen. The Ministry of Finance’s Department of Revenue issued a notification on April 30, 2024, amending some provisions related to upstream textile sector products.

The Customs and Central Excise Duties Drawback Rules, 2017 have been amended by the department to make provisions more reasonable. The duty drawback rate under HSN code 630201 has been increased from 2.6% to 3%. Additionally, the upper cap of duty drawback has been raised from ₹40.5 per kg to ₹68.9 per kg for certain linen products made of cotton fiber.

The government has increased duty drawback rates for certain linen products made of blended fiber of man-made fiber and cotton. The new rate is 2.6 percent, up from 2.4 percent, for items classified under HSN code 630202. However, there is no change in the upper cap of the duty drawback.
