Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Autumn Edition 2026 has concluded successfully.
The event ended on 20 August in Shanghai. It brought together more than 900 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions.
The fair also welcomed nearly 36,000 visitors from 113 markets. It took place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).
The event covered more than 100,000 square metres. It featured a wide range of home and contract textile products.
Focus on Home Textile Innovation
Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles 2026 showcased many new products. These included bedding, fabrics, curtains and carpets.
Exhibitors also presented new design collections. Sustainable materials were another major focus.
Technology played an important role at the fair. Several exhibitors showed smart solutions for textile production and sourcing.
For example, Shenzhen Lidai Environmental Protection Intelligent Technology presented an AI-powered fabric recognition system. The company also showed smart wallpaper sampling and matching systems.
Other exhibitors focused on natural and functional materials. Antonio Salgado from Portugal presented bedspreads made from 100% Masters of Flax Fibre linen.
Tongxiang Gelin Textile showcased Merino Wool Velvet and W-TDC series fabrics. These fabrics offer fire resistance and antibacterial properties.
Global Buyers Visit Shanghai
The fair attracted buyers from many leading companies. These included Bouclair, H&M, HEMA, IKEA, Li & Fung and Tesco.
Buyers also came from Central Asia, Southeast Asia and North Africa. This helped exhibitors reach new markets.
Many buyers were looking for sustainable textile solutions. They also wanted new materials and functional products.
The strong buyer turnout created new sourcing opportunities. It also helped exhibitors understand changing market needs.
Trends and Sustainability Take Centre Stage
The fair offered more than product sourcing. Its fringe programme gave visitors new market insights.
The programme included talks, guided tours and panel discussions. It focused on design, sustainability and changing lifestyles.
A key highlight was Intertextile International Lifestyle Trend 2027 – Breathe Up!
The trend area explored new ideas for home and hospitality spaces. It also focused on wellbeing and nature-inspired design.
The programme also covered artificial intelligence. Other sessions looked at urban renewal and product development.
Positive Response from Industry
Exhibitors reported strong interest from buyers. Many visitors were searching for sustainable and functional textile products.
The event also helped companies explore new business opportunities. Face-to-face meetings supported future sourcing and partnerships.
Overall, the fair showed the continued strength of China’s home textile industry. It also highlighted Shanghai’s role as a major sourcing hub in Asia.
Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Autumn Edition is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT, and the China Home Textile Association (CHTA).
The next VIATT will take place from 24–26 February 2027 in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition will follow from 10–12 March 2027 in Shanghai.
