The ISH Designplus Award 2027 is inviting exhibitors to submit innovative solutions in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and water technologies. Organised as part of ISH 2027 in Frankfurt am Main, the award recognises products and concepts that combine design quality, technological progress and resource efficiency. Entries will remain open until 22 January 2027.
Held since 1995, the Designplus Award highlights developments that address industry challenges through innovative design and technology. An independent jury of experts from industry, design and architecture will evaluate the submissions.
Award Winners to Feature in Guided Tours
The winners will receive their awards during a ceremony on the first day of ISH 2027. The event will also introduce a Guided Tours programme for trade visitors and media representatives.
Through these tours, visitors can discover award-winning products directly at the manufacturers’ exhibition stands. They can also explore the solutions in their trade fair setting and discuss the technologies with exhibitors.
Stefan Seitz, Director ISH Brand Management, said the award reflects the industry’s response to challenges involving water, heating and air. He also highlighted its role in presenting current developments and solutions to trade visitors and the press.
Six Categories for Industry Innovations
The Designplus Award 2027 includes four main categories and two special categories.
Water & Efficiency +: Recognises solutions that reduce water consumption and losses, protect drinking water hygiene and improve water monitoring and control.
HVAC & Resource Efficiency +: Focuses on energy-efficient heating and air-conditioning technologies, renewable energy integration, lower CO₂ emissions and healthy indoor climates.
Smart & Control +: Covers intelligent building services, connected systems and demand-based automation that improve energy efficiency and comfort.
Design & Innovation +: Recognises products combining advanced design with innovative materials, technologies, functions and sustainable concepts.
Young Innovators +: Highlights new ideas, technologies and business models from participants in the ISH Startup and Scaleup Area.
Sustainable Exhibition Stand +: Recognises exhibitors using environmentally friendly materials and resource-efficient construction methods throughout stand planning and operation.
Participation in the two special categories, Young Innovators + and Sustainable Exhibition Stand +, is free of charge.
The Designplus Award provides ISH 2027 exhibitors with an opportunity to showcase their innovations and gain industry recognition. The awards will also help visitors explore developments shaping the future of HVAC and water technologies.
