The International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) has announced the winners of the Sustainability & Innovation Awards 2026.
The awards recognise new ideas in the textile industry. They focus on sustainability, innovation, design, development and production.
This year, three projects received the awards. The projects come from the UK, Korea and China.
Three Projects Receive Awards
The three winners are listed in alphabetical order.
Epoch Biodesign, UK
Epoch Biodesign won for its project on textile waste.
The project uses AI-driven enzymatic depolymerization. It aims to turn textile waste into fiber-grade nylon 6,6.
Huvis, Korea
Huvis received an award for its polyester recycling project.
The project focuses on chemical recycling technology. It is designed for sustainable automotive textiles.
Simabo Technology and Wuhan Textile University, China
Simabo Technology Co., Ltd and Wuhan Textile University also received an award.
Their project is called Desert-Mulberry – Bioactive Silk Eco-Regenerative Cycle.
The project focuses on bioactive silk and an eco-regenerative cycle.
Winners to Present Projects in Brazil
The winners will present their projects at the ITMF & IAF Conference 2026.
The conference will take place on October 14 and 15, 2026. It will be held in Fortaleza, Brazil.
ABIT, the Brazilian Textile & Industry Association, will co-host the conference.
The ITMF Sustainability & Innovation Awards recognise sustainable achievements in textiles.
The 2026 projects cover different areas of textile innovation. These include textile waste, chemical recycling and bio-based solutions.
