Joyce Eddy, Founder of Habersham Furniture, Passes Away at 95

CLARKESVILLE, Ga. — On October 24, 2024, Joyce Edwards Cash Eddy, the founder of Habersham Furniture, passed away at her home at the age of 95.

Eddy Cash was born to William and Cora Mae Cash in Ravenna, Ohio, on October 4, 1929. In 1972, he established Habersham Furniture in Clarkesville. From a local artisan project, the business expanded to become a nationally renowned brand praised for its flawless craftsmanship, timeless elegance, and unwavering quality.

In addition to being named Business Woman of the Year in 1984, Eddy was named Georgia Business Woman of the Year by President Ronald Reagan in 1986 at a White House briefing for female entrepreneurs.

After she retired from Habersham in 2016, she gave her son Matt Eddy the reins of the family business, which he currently runs with his own kids, Brandon and Mallory Eddy.

Her sister, two sons, Craig and Matthew, seven grandsons, fourteen great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended relatives, survive Eddy.
