Karl Mayer has expanded its HKS 2-SE tricot machine portfolio with two new variants designed to improve productivity and broaden applications across premium fashion and home textiles.
The company has introduced a new 312-inch working width model alongside the existing 130-inch and 156-inch versions, offering manufacturers greater production efficiency and flexibility. The development responds to rising demand for warp knitted fabrics with a woven appearance, particularly in smart casual and business casual apparel that combines stretch, breathability and wrinkle resistance.
The HKS 2-SE is Karl Mayer’s flagship tricot machine for producing premium elastic fabrics with fine gauges, smooth surfaces and a soft handle. The expanded range is intended to support manufacturers seeking higher output while maintaining fabric quality.
Karl Mayer has also launched the HKS 2-SE TWO in E40 gauge, expanding the two-in-one machine beyond its previous E36 version. Featuring a 2 × 134-inch working width, the machine simultaneously produces two identical fabric panels at high production speeds while simplifying operations. The E40 gauge is particularly suited for manufacturing smooth, durable fabrics used in garments such as polo shirts and trousers.
The newly developed 312-inch HKS 2-SE targets large-format textile production, especially in the bedding segment. Operating at speeds of up to 3,800 rpm, the wider machine enables higher productivity for products such as satin-finish duvet fabrics, which provide a smooth and cool feel for summer bedding.
Available in both E36 and E40 gauges, the 312-inch machine features an N-pattern gear drive and is equipped with Karl Mayer’s KAMCOS 2 control system.
With these additions, Karl Mayer is extending the application range of the HKS 2-SE series beyond traditional segments such as sportswear, swimwear and lingerie into the growing home textiles market.
