Lenzing Showcases Bio-Based Nonwovens Innovation at Global Industry Fairs

The Lenzing Group strengthened its position in the global nonwovens sector during the first half of 2026 by showcasing its bio-based fibre solutions and LENZING™ Nonwoven Technology (LNT) at three major international industry exhibitions—CIDPEX China, Techtextil Frankfurt, and INDEX Geneva. The company also received the prestigious INDEX™ 26 Award for its LENZING™ DualWipe innovation.

Global exhibitions highlight scalable nonwoven solutions

Lenzing participated in CIDPEX 2026 in Nanjing, China, one of the world’s largest exhibitions for tissue and disposable hygiene products. The event enabled the company to strengthen its presence in the Asian market while increasing the visibility of its VEOCEL™ branded fibres, particularly for absorbent hygiene products and wipes.

The company continued its global engagement at Techtextil 2026 in Frankfurt and INDEX 2026 in Geneva, where it presented LENZING™ Nonwoven Technology through interactive demonstrations. Visitors experienced the performance, versatility and material properties of Lenzing’s cellulosic nonwoven solutions through application-focused touch-and-feel displays.

LENZING™ DualWipe receives INDEX™ 26 Award

A key milestone during INDEX Geneva was the recognition of LENZING™ DualWipe, which received the INDEX™ Award in the Nonwovens Roll Goods category.

Developed using LENZING™ Nonwoven Technology, DualWipe combines two functional surfaces within a single wipe. One side provides an abrasive surface for removing dirt and residues, while the opposite side offers a soft, highly absorbent finish for cleaning and wiping applications.

The product contains no synthetic fibres, binders or finishing chemicals, helping eliminate the risk of microplastic shedding commonly associated with conventional synthetic wipes.

Commenting on the recognition, Patricia Sargeant, Executive Vice President Commercial Nonwovens at Lenzing Group, said:

“We would like to thank EDANA and the independent INDEX Award jury for recognizing LENZING™ DualWipe with the INDEX™ 26 Award. This underlines the relevance of cellulose-based, fossil-free technologies for the future of the nonwovens industry. With LENZING™ Nonwoven Technology, we provide a scalable, high-performance alternative to fossil-based materials by combining renewable raw materials and advanced fiber and web technologies. Lenzing supports customers in meeting increasing regulatory, brand, and consumer expectations and enables the industry’s transition toward more sustainable products.”

Supporting the transition to bio-based materials

Lenzing stated that its nonwoven solutions align with the European Union Bioeconomy Strategy, which promotes the adoption of bio-based materials to reduce dependence on fossil resources and strengthen sustainable industrial value chains.

The company said its technologies are already available at industrial scale for applications in hygiene products, wipes and technical nonwovens.

By combining fibre innovation, application expertise and collaboration across the value chain, Lenzing continues to position itself as a technology and innovation partner for the global nonwovens industry.
