Lenzing – Lenzing Group, a prominent manufacturer of specialty fibers derived from wood, has announced the release of its most recent Black Towel Collection, which features black viscose and black modal fibers branded TENCELTM and LENZINGTM ECOVEROTM. Six basic everyday washable and reusable face and body care items are included in the collection: makeup removal pads, makeup removal towels, gym towels, bath towels, hand towels, hair bonnets, and beach towels. These items are made to meet the constantly evolving needs of consumers for high-quality, ethical personal care products for all facets of daily life. The Black Towel Collection, which is made with responsibly produced components, offers an alternative to the prevalent social norm in which makeup removal solutions are primarily single-use disposables and reusable towels frequently become discolored or damaged from frequent use. The collection’s remarkable softness, durability, and color brilliance will provide customers with a sophisticated experience.

Engineered for everyday use with enhanced softness and durability

The Black Towel Collection is woven with a blend of cotton and TENCEL™ Modal black fibers or LENZING™ ECOVERO™ Viscose black fibers with a unique fabric composition to enhance durability. Even after multiple washes, these products retain their softness and gentle feel on the skin, making them ideal for repeated use.

Derived from controlled or certified wood sources, these specialty fibers are made from resource-saving processes, using at least 50% less carbon emissions and water consumption1. Additionally, the LENZING™ ECOVERO™ Viscose black fibers are certified biodegradable and compostable at the end of their lifecycle. Both reusable and responsibly produced, this towel collection is an excellent solution for individuals looking to minimize the carbon footprint1 of their everyday care practices.

Long-lasting colour vibrancy enabled by resource-saving dyeing processes

Featuring a rich black color, the towels are dyed in the fiber stage using the spin-dyeing technique, where black color pigments are directly incorporated into the fibers. The unique process uses 50% less energy and water and does not require post-dye rinses, substantially enabling a 60% decrease in carbon footprint compared to conventional dyeing methods3. The process also helps preserve color intensity even after multiple washes and can mitigate the formation of cream spots caused by contact with substances like acne cream. Customers don’t have to worry about the black color smearing on other clothes while washing thanks to its strong color fastness. In particular, this collection’s beach and gym towels include chlorine-resistant qualities that reduce fading and fabric degradation from exposure to chlorine in swimming pools and household water. This lessens the need for frequent replacements by extending the life of the towels’ color and quality.

“The majority of the products for removing makeup are made entirely of cotton, including face towels, washable microfibre, and disposable cotton towels. “We see an opportunity for Lenzing to bring forth an alternative option using our cellulosic fibers as consumers become more aware of the environmental impact of their daily essential face and body care products,” said Ebru Bayramoglu, Head of Global Business Development in Lenzing’s textiles business. “This Black Towel Collection, which was created in partnership with our value chain partners, will be an inspired product that is featured at a number of retail locations and at upcoming trade shows. Exceptionally soft and durable even after repeated washes, our collection is set to become a popular choice among conscious consumers who want to make a difference to the world through their daily personal care rituals.”

Working with Lenzing to create our first Black Towel Collection makes us proud. We have always enjoyed experimenting with various fiber combinations and fabric compositions to create useful goods that cater to customers’ daily needs. Mustafa Soylu, Research and Development Coordinator at Veritas Tekstil, stated, “We hope that more brands and consumers will realize that they can be kinder to the world with small changes in their everyday habits.” This is the new product.
