Made in Filo Turns Materials into Fabrics
Made in Filo gives visitors a closer look at the materials shown at the fair.
The project goes beyond the display of yarns and raw materials. Selected materials are used to develop finished fabrics.
This helps show the key features of each yarn. It also shows how production methods can change the final fabric.
Filo works with exhibitors and partner companies on the project. Together, they test how different materials can be used in new fabric concepts.
The project also shows the role of the textile supply chain in product development.
Four Editions of Textile Experimentation
Made in Filo has now reached its fourth edition. The project has become a space for textile testing and development.

For Filo66, the collection takes inspiration from “Botanica.” This is the theme chosen for Filo’s product development proposals.
The Botanica concept has three directions: Spontaneous, Expanded and Hybridised.
Each direction looks at yarns, structures, textures and textile techniques in a different way.

Spontaneous
The Spontaneous direction focuses on simplicity.
Simple yarns are used to create fabrics with a natural character and feel.
Expanded
The Expanded concept is inspired by the idea of an Italian garden.
Subtle weaves and light surface effects create fabrics with depth and visual appeal.
Hybridised
The Hybridised direction has a more experimental approach.
Structured jacquards and technical yarns are used to create complex surfaces. They also allow designers to explore new textile expressions.
The three directions show how different materials and techniques can create different fabric looks and feels.
Exploring the Textile Supply Chain
Made in Filo focuses on the full fabric development process.
The collection shows how a yarn supplied by an exhibitor can become part of a finished fabric.
This process needs teamwork and technical skills. It can also give textile professionals new ideas for product development.
