Brooklyn, New York — West Elm, a division of Top 100 Williams-Sonoma Inc., is teaming up with children’s novelist and fashionista Eva Chen on a 34-piece collection that includes lighting, furnishings, textiles, and decorative accents.
Day Kornbluth, president of West Elm, said of Eva, “She has fantastic taste and is acutely aware of what parents want for a kid’s room: products that are highly functional while maintaining great style.” “She is also a pleasure to work with, kind, and cooperative.”
A few pieces in the new Eva Chen for West Elm line were designed with children’s book storage and reading promotion in mind. A reading nook is included in the lofted bed, a chair and a half comfortably seats two people, and a comfortable place to cuddle up with a nice book is provided by the Tent floor cushion. Children can easily choose their preferred book from the Arched Reading bookcase because it is ideally positioned low.
“Throughout, there are references to reading and a love of books. Chen stated that children are meant to literally put their feet up and read using the Arched Reading bookshelf. “The capsule is a little oddball, not overly idealistic, and ultimately very livable.”
The Play table and stool set, the Save-As storage shelf, the Playful Shapes rug, and the Rolling Art easel are some of the other essential pieces in the new Eva Chen for West Elm collection.
