The Global Alliance for Textiles Sustainability Council (GATS), a non-profit championing sustainability and circularity in the global textile industry, has signed an MoU with Green Story to quantify and showcase the carbon footprint of the Panipat Textiles Cluster. This collaboration strengthens Panipat’s position as a global leader in sustainable textile production.

Showcasing Panipat’s Circular Economy Leadership

Through this partnership, GATS and Green Story will highlight Panipat’s excellence in textile recycling, circularity, and decarbonization, creating a compelling business and environmental case for brands and social organizations worldwide. By fostering global recognition, this initiative aims to attract investments and partnerships aligned with circular economy principles.

Measuring Carbon Footprint for Transparency

Renowned for its leadership in textile recycling, Panipat will benefit from a systematic measurement of its carbon footprint under this MoU. Green Story’s sustainability analytics will provide transparent, data-driven insights, empowering brands, investors, and policymakers to drive meaningful change in the textile supply chain.

Live Demonstration at Bharat Tex 2025

At Bharat Tex 2025, GATS, in collaboration with Green Story and Recyclr, will showcase a Digital Product Passport (DPP) for a recycled denim product—a pair of jeans made from mechanically recycled post-industrial waste. This initiative exemplifies sustainable manufacturing at its best, adhering to:
Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) – 100% wastewater filtration and reuse
Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) – No toxic chemicals used

Why This Matters

Safer & Greener Production – No hazardous chemicals in the supply chain
Lower Environmental Impact – Reduces resource consumption and pollution
Circular Fashion in Action – Textiles are recycled, filtered, and reused
