Paris Design Week showcased a fresh approach to scale in interior design, highlighting oversized installations, bold furnishings and miniature decorative objects. The September event explored how changing proportions can transform familiar spaces and everyday products.

According to forecasting firm Sphere Trending, the latest design developments reflect a growing interest in experimenting with scale. The observations came from Paris Design Week and Maison & Objet, where designers presented contrasting approaches to size and proportion.

Oversized Floral Installations Make a Statement

At the Grand Palais, multidisciplinary design team Uchronia presented Le Grand Bouquet. The installation transformed a traditional floral arrangement into an oversized display that complemented the building’s architecture.

Similarly, Masquespacio, Maison & Objet’s Designers of the Year, explored changing proportions through its installation Feel The Shift. The space featured boldly scaled furniture to create a distinctive visual experience and explore evolving ideas about home interiors.

Small Decorative Objects Gain Attention

Alongside oversized designs, smaller decorative elements also attracted attention. Hübsch presented glass display boxes that allow people to showcase meaningful personal objects and everyday accessories.

Sheyn introduced miniature versions of its signature designs at Maison & Objet. The smaller vases highlighted how reduced proportions can make decorative objects more deliberate and distinctive.

Meanwhile, Lexon explored compact lighting through portable products available in increasingly smaller sizes. These designs demonstrate how scale can influence both functionality and everyday convenience.
