Patricia Urquiola will return to Heimtextil 2027 with new design elements for the Trend Space. The architect and designer continues her collaboration with Heimtextil for a third year.
The Trend Space will present the Heimtextil Trends 27/28, curated by Alcova. The theme is “Home-Maxxing – The Performance of Everyday Living.” Urquiola will present three sculptures as part of the installation.
The presentation includes the familiar “Bambi” figure and two new sculptures created for Heimtextil 2027. The new pieces build on the forms and materials of the existing hybrid silver creature.
Urquiola first presented “Bambi” digitally at Heimtextil 2025. In 2026, she developed it into a physical element. For Heimtextil 2027, she expands the concept with two additional figures.
“For Heimtextil 2027, I return with a family of three hybrid creatures: the third chapter of a research that keeps evolving, one edition at a time.”
The sculptures also connect with Alcova’s trend direction “Hyper Presence.” This trend focuses on physical presence, material character and human connection.
Another element is the use of Ohoskin in “Bambi”. Its metallic surface gives the material a technical and futuristic appearance. However, Ohoskin is made from by-products of Sicilian oranges.
The installation also connects with the trend directions “Staged Competence” and “Inside, Out.” Together, the sculptures explore the relationship between technology, materials and everyday living.
Visitors can experience the Heimtextil Trends 27/28 and Patricia Urquiola’s design elements in the Trend Space at Heimtextil 2027 from 12 to 15 January 2027.
