The brand currently has about 150 locations in about 100 cities, and in the next two to three years, it hopes to reach 150 cities.
Bengaluru— In three years, Pepperfry, an omnichannel retailer of furniture and home décor, hopes to treble its storefront presence in India. Within this timeframe, the company hopes to increase its footprint to around 150 cities from its current presence in roughly 100 places.
According to Pepperfry’s Chief Growth Officer Shubbam Sharma, “our top priority is to rapidly expand offline by opening more franchise stores and collaborating with the right partners.” “This will give our online customers a tactile experience, particularly for high-commitment purchases where trust is essential to completing the transaction.”
Pepperfry was founded in 2011 by Ambareesh Murthy and Ashish Shah as an online-only enterprise. In 2014, the company established its first physical location in Mumbai. It currently sells more than 1,000 Indian and international brands in more than 150 locations throughout the nation.
In categories like furniture, home décor, kitchen and dining items, lamps and lights, electrical appliances, wall art, and more, the shop offers more than one lakh stock-keeping units (SKUs).
Along with its items, it features brands such as Duroflex, Nilkamal, RoyalOak, HomeTown, Orange Tree, Jaipur Rugs, Godrej Interio, Wakefit, Raymond, Sleepycat, and The Sleep Company.
By providing consumers with everything they require for their houses, Pepperfry’s hopes to become a one-stop home solution.
“In order to reinforce this, we intend to diversify into home utilities and lifestyle-enhancing small appliances, such as vacuum cleaners and kitchen gadgets, while avoiding large appliances,” Sharma stated. “As part of our growth strategy, many more categories are also in the works.”
Sharma added that the company’s 2024 growth was positive. “We have improved customer lifetime value by increasing customer transactions from once or twice a year to five or six times over the past year,” he continued.
According to a Praxis Global Alliance analysis, India’s home and interior products industry has grown significantly, reaching a value of over Rs 2.4 trillion in 2023. With over 41% of the market, the sector of indoor living products is in the lead.
