Cartersville, Georgia –  With its expanding range of mattresses composed of bio-based and sustainable materials, Piana Sleep, a new bedding company, is poised to make a big impact in the bedding market.

The business, which is a part of Piana Technology, unveiled its first mattresses under the Piana brand in June. These mattresses combined bio-based foams with its exclusive V/Smart fiber technology.

The company claims that the locally made mattresses, which retail for between $2,199 and $2,999, provide a sleep solution that contributes to the creation of “healthy people and a healthy planet.” The business is developing a range of mattresses without foam that will be released in 2025.

The company’s V/Smart technology, which uses fibers organized vertically to produce a high-loft, nonwoven pattern, is the key to the mattress designs. The substance is non-toxic, odorless, and VOC-free, and it can be used in place of conventional foam.

The company’s philosophy is to create goods that provide customers with a healthy sleep experience while having as little of an environmental impact as possible. This includes the design of the products.

With a long history that began in 1582 when the Piana family established their first factory in Biella, Italy, the business eventually expanded to include dying fiber for traditional textiles. The company established its first U.S. dye plant in Georgia in 1995, and it currently supplies nonwovens, FR solutions, digital fiber printing, and other products to the automotive, upholstery, mattress, and other industries.

Piana Technology is committed to using environmentally and socially responsible technology to replace traditional materials. The company entered the U.S. market as a supplier of textiles and components with the goal of advancing environmentally friendly, sustainable materials to mattress manufacturers throughout the supply chain. Piana Sleep was created since the concept’s adoption has been slower than expected.

With a sustainability narrative that differs from those of other mattress manufacturers, its patent-pending mattress brand Rinnovo is starting to appear on store floors across the United States.

The beds are round all the way around. When the mattress reaches the end of its useful life, Piana Sleep will collect it, disassemble it, and use the components to make new items. In order to support the take-back initiative, the company intends to construct a recycling center at its headquarters the following year.

Andrea Piana, CEO of Piana Technologies, stated, “We want to be a catalyst for the change we desire.” Being a misfit in the industry has its own cool factor. We are naturally rebellious. Everyone would be doing it if it were simple.

He went on to say, “If I could give my kids one thing, it would be to never be boring.” “Be a misfit; be a rebel. That is how you transform the world.

The Rinnovo collection was constructed using recycled and renewable materials as a result of this forward-thinking mindset. “The company’s innovative spirit helped develop the mattresses with a laser-focused passion on minimizing environmental impact without compromising comfort,” said Silvia Galasso, executive vice president.

“V/Smart functions similarly to foam without having an adverse effect on the environment, and we can modify its density and personalize it with cooling, antimicrobial, and aromatherapy components,” Galasso stated. “We will lead the way in smart technologies and sustainability.”

According to the business, the V/Smart mattress base’s woven construction provides constant air movement and moisture protection. Using Piana’s technology, the top mattress layers in the Rinnovo series are infused with lavender molecules to improve sleep quality and defend against dust mites. The line’s SmartSilver technology protects against mold and bacteria for a healthier sleep, and the beds also have CoolComfort technology.

According to Galasso, the lavender and silver help keep the “nasties out of the mattress.”

Galasso claimed that Piana Sleep’s expanding mattress line is paving the way for the circularity and sustainability that the industry will see in the future.

“We’re leading by example,” she stated. “We’re demonstrating to them that they can produce goods that are both environmentally and human health-friendly without compromising comfort or functionality. We’re constantly trying to do things differently. We will not be successful if we attempt to compete in the same old manner. We are confident in our approach and are approaching the category more like a blue ocean.
