This new advancement improves luxury-grade durability and flexibility, setting a benchmark in bio-material innovation. Additionally, MycoWorks is now offering Reishi™ for online purchase through its first-ever e-commerce platform.

MycoWorks’ Reishi™ biomaterial has achieved new performance results enabling the production of luxury products with intricate construction techniques, including stitch-and-turn and edge applications.
Developed in collaboration between MycoWorks’ San Francisco Innovation Center and tannery experts in Igualada, Spain, Rei-Tanning™ technology enhances Reishi™’s performance consistency. This exclusive process enables luxury construction techniques such as stitch-and-turn and edge applications, reinforcing softness, durability, and water resistance.
With Reishi™ now available at scale, specific retanning guidelines are available under license for use in client facilities. The Rei-Tanning™ process expands luxury sector applications, overcoming traditional biomaterial challenges.
Enhanced Reishi™ Performance Results
Third-party testing from CTC Groupe confirms that Reishi™ surpasses luxury leather benchmarks: ✅ Bally Flex Resistance – Up to 20,000 cycles
✅ Martindale Abrasion Resistance – Up to 25,600 cycles
✅ Colorfastness – Passed 200-cycle benchmark
✅ Ageing Test (50°C, 90% RH) – Passed
✅ Finish Adhesion – Reached 0.5N/mm
Ligne Roset Validates Reishi™ Performance
MycoWorks’ strategic partner, Ligne Roset, conducted independent in-house testing, achieving:
- Martindale Abrasion Resistance – Up to 50,000 cycles
- Seating Simulation Test – Replicating 100 kg pressure for over 25,000 cycles
These results underscore ten years of research and commitment at MycoWorks to meet the highest industry standards and customer expectations.
