Ross Stores Inc. has expanded its retail presence with the opening of 47 new stores across 15 states and territories, strengthening the reach of its Ross Dress for Less and dd’s Discounts brands as part of its 2026 growth strategy.
During June and July, the company launched 35 Ross Dress for Less stores and 12 dd’s Discounts locations. The latest expansion keeps Ross Stores on track to open 85 new Ross stores and 25 new dd’s Discounts stores during 2026. The retailer also expects to close or relocate 10 to 15 older stores as part of its ongoing portfolio optimisation.
Following 17 store openings earlier this spring, Ross Dress for Less has expanded into Puerto Rico, New York, and Michigan, while continuing to strengthen its presence across key Sunbelt markets. Meanwhile, dd’s Discounts has increased its footprint in existing markets including California, Florida, North Carolina, and Texas.
Commenting on the expansion, Richard Lietz, Executive Vice President of Property Development, said each new store enables the company to offer greater value to customers while creating employment opportunities and supporting local communities.
With the latest additions, Ross Stores now operates 1,952 Ross Dress for Less locations across 44 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico, alongside 376 dd’s Discounts stores across 23 states.
The continued expansion reflects the retailer’s long-term strategy of growing its off-price retail network while strengthening its presence in both established and emerging markets across the United States.
