Whitestown, Indiana – In Whitestown, Indiana, Savafieh, a rug and furniture supplier, plans to invest $62 million in a new 601,000-square-foot warehouse. In Whitestown, the warehouse will be added to an existing 470,000-square-foot complex.
The new facility’s construction has already started and is scheduled to be completed in July 2025. The employment process will be completed by 2027, and the company plans to hire 60 new workers to work at the new site.
According to paperwork filed with the municipal of Whitestown, Safavieh plans to invest a total of $62 million in the project. This investment consists of $11 million in land costs, $45 million in real estate, and $6 million in personal goods.
The Whitestown Town Council authorized a five-year property tax break to encourage the investment, provided Safavieh hires 60 employees with a combined yearly salary of $2.7 million. $22 per hour is the average anticipated wage rate.
The abatement will start at 100% for the first year and then be reduced by 20% annually for the next five years. The corporation is anticipated to save $1.95 million overall.

Kazem Yaraghi established Safavieh in 1914 as a Persian rug export company. The company sells furniture, lighting, and accessories for almost every room of the house, but its specialty is rugs.
