Commercial production at expanded 18,000 MTPA unit to begin in August
Sanathan Textiles Ltd., an integrated manufacturer of polyester filament yarn, cotton yarn and technical textiles yarn, is set to double the production capacity of its technical textiles yarn facility at Silvassa from 9,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 18,000 MTPA. The expanded facility is expected to commence commercial production in August, following the completion of the final phase of the expansion project.
According to the company, civil construction has been completed and the required plant and machinery has already been installed. Commissioning activities are currently underway ahead of the scheduled production launch.
The expansion is aimed at strengthening Sanathan Textiles’ integrated manufacturing capabilities while enhancing its ability to meet increasing demand for technical textiles yarn across both domestic and international markets.
The technical yarn manufactured at the Silvassa facility is used across a wide range of high-value applications, including automotive, agriculture, defence, infrastructure, roads and railways, healthcare, sportswear, industrial safety, and protective clothing such as fire-retardant garments.
Strategically located near India’s western ports, the Silvassa manufacturing unit supports both domestic and export customers while complementing the company’s existing manufacturing operations in Punjab.
The capacity expansion comes alongside improved financial performance in FY26. On a standalone basis, revenue from operations increased to Rs 3,037.9 crore, compared with Rs 2,996.8 crore in FY25. During the same period, net profit rose 10% year-on-year to Rs 191.9 crore, up from Rs 174.5 crore in the previous financial year.
With the commissioning of the expanded facility, Sanathan Textiles aims to further strengthen its presence in the growing technical textiles segment while supporting demand from multiple industrial and high-performance application sectors.
