Bellevue, Washington — Bassett and Seldens, a retailer in the Pacific Northwest, have been working together for more than 25 years.
The retailer opened a 12,000-square-foot Bassett showroom in a dedicated location near the Puget Sound in this market east of Seattle as a result of those long-standing relationships. The addition of a Tacoma Bassett showroom, which has been operating since 2000, to the three Seldens locations in Bellevue, Olympia, and Tacoma, as well as two Summer House outdoor furniture showrooms in Bellevue and Tacoma (a brand that Seldens purchased in 2022), strengthens the company’s position in the region.
Seldens established its own Bassett store in Bellevue to ensure that customers would continue to receive service after the independently owned Bassett showrooms in Redmond and Tukwila announced their closures.
Jake Cross, a fourth-generation leader of the family-owned Seldens’, told Furniture Today, “We didn’t have the opportunity to expand into those markets with the other family in the area that had the stores.” “We seized the chance to expand our market share and maintain our partnership with Bassett when they made the decision to retire and shut down.”
On January 11, there will be a grand opening party for the new Bassett showroom in Bellevue, which is situated at 11919 N.E. 8th St. It provides a wide range of Selden’s renowned design services as well as Bassett’s American-made, customizable furniture.
According to Cross, Seldens’ executives think the Bassett brand has a lot of room to grow in the marketplace. “We believe there are more opportunities to grow with the Bassett brand, particularly along the I-5 corridor in the Pacific Northwest north and south,” he stated.
