Supreme Group Invests $25.8 Million in First U.S. Manufacturing Facility for Nonwoven Materials
Supreme Group, one of India’s leading manufacturers of advanced nonwoven materials and engineered textile solutions, has announced a US$25.8 million investment to establish its first manufacturing facility in the United States through its subsidiary, Supreme Nonwoven Inc.
Located in Lexington, North Carolina, the new facility will serve as an integrated centre for manufacturing, application engineering, product development, and technical collaboration, strengthening the company’s presence in North America and supporting customers across automotive, industrial, filtration, and technical textile sectors.
Expanding Global Manufacturing Footprint
The investment marks a significant milestone in Supreme Group’s international expansion strategy and reinforces its long-term commitment to the U.S. market.
The new facility, spanning more than 200,000 square feet, will combine manufacturing, research, product development, and application engineering under one roof, enabling faster innovation, improved customer collaboration, and quicker commercialisation of new material solutions.
According to the company, the facility will enhance its ability to develop, test, and refine nonwoven materials closer to end-use applications while strengthening responsiveness to regional customer requirements.
Strengthening Customer Collaboration
Rather than operating solely as a production site, the Lexington facility has been designed as a collaborative innovation hub where customers and technical teams can jointly develop customised nonwoven solutions.
The company expects the local presence to support:
- Faster product development
- Application-specific material engineering
- Improved product validation
- Enhanced technical support
- Greater manufacturing consistency
The investment is intended to improve alignment with customer needs while creating a scalable manufacturing platform capable of supporting future growth.
Focus on Automotive and Industrial Applications
Supreme Group expects the new facility to support growing demand for advanced nonwoven materials across key industries, particularly:
- Automotive interiors
- Acoustic insulation
- Filtration systems
- Thermal insulation
- Engineered industrial components
- Technical textiles
As manufacturers increasingly seek lightweight, sustainable, and high-performance materials, the company aims to strengthen partnerships with OEMs, Tier suppliers, and industrial customers throughout North America.
Leadership Perspective
Commenting on the investment, Amit Kavrie, Managing Director, Supreme Group, said the decision reflects the company’s long-term commitment to serving the U.S. market through locally manufactured nonwoven materials while bringing its technology and product development capabilities closer to customers.
Manoj Swain, Director of International Operations, added that the Lexington facility will provide a strong operational base for delivering technical collaboration, responsiveness, and reliable execution while leveraging the broader capabilities of the Supreme Group.
Supporting Long-Term Growth
With nearly four decades of experience in manufacturing advanced nonwoven materials, Supreme Group serves industries including automotive, apparel, filtration, and industrial manufacturing.
The establishment of its first U.S. manufacturing facility represents an important step in building a globally integrated business supported by local manufacturing, innovation, and customer collaboration.
As demand continues to grow for advanced nonwoven solutions across automotive and industrial markets, the investment is expected to strengthen Supreme Group’s international footprint while enhancing its ability to deliver high-performance engineered materials worldwide.
