With deep roots in high-end handcrafted area rugs, Surya Inc. has spent the past five years focused on dominating the machine-made market in pursuit of a bigger prize: mass merchant sales.
The work is yielding results.
As the largest importer of machine-woven rugs into the United States from Turkey, Surya is in its eighth year of business and has an ever-expanding selection of rugs made by machine. Surya is introducing a wide range of new collections at the New York Home Fashions Market with the goal of sustaining category growth into the upcoming year and beyond. This comprises:
- Machine-woven washable rugs’ new features
- fresh carpets for outside
- Foldable, low-profile carpets with inventive new packaging
- a complete selection of utilitarian scatter rugs with tufts
- Fresh door mats that reduce fatigue
The machine-washable Alston & Lavable lines are two highlights. Alston is available in three designs with a vibrant color scheme of blues, golds, greens, and creams. It is machine woven from 100% polyester. Lavable is available in three adaptable patterns and is machine woven from 100% polyester.
Regarding branding, the company is showcasing two influencer-branded collections: one in collaboration with designer Becki Owens and the other using designer Erin Vogelpohl’s My Texas House. Additionally, Surya is adding new products to its exclusive direct-to-consumer “Livabliss” brand.
