Techtextil 2026 is set to spotlight the future of technical textiles, with a strong focus on sustainability, alternative materials, and circular economy solutions. Scheduled from 21–24 April 2026, the global trade fair will showcase innovations shaping the next phase of the industry.

Rising Demand for Natural and Bio-Based Materials

Sustainable fibres and yarns are among the fastest-growing segments in technical textiles, driven by increasing regulatory pressure, environmental goals, and performance advancements.

Natural fibres such as jute, coir, flax, hemp, sisal, and kapok are gaining traction due to their biodegradability, recyclability, and reduced dependence on fossil resources. These materials are increasingly used in applications ranging from automotive components to insulation and construction.

‘Nature Performance’ Label Debuts

A key highlight of the 2026 edition is the introduction of the “Nature Performance” label, which brings together more than 110 exhibitors offering natural and bio-based solutions.

Companies such as Karsu Tekstil, Südwolle, and Vombaur will be part of this initiative, enabling visitors to easily identify innovative suppliers and technologies.

Hall 9.1 will act as a central hub for these sustainable material solutions, providing a comprehensive overview of global advancements.

Focus on Recycling and Circular Solutions

With stricter circular economy regulations across Europe, recycling technologies are gaining momentum. Techtextil 2026 will feature around 90 exhibitors showcasing recycled and recyclable fibres and yarns.

Leading companies including Lenzing, The Lycra Company, and Teijin Group will present advanced solutions for textile recycling.

The Dutch Circular Textile Pavilion will further highlight innovations such as fibre-to-fibre recycling technologies and closed-loop supply chains, demonstrating practical approaches to circularity.

Texpertise Econogy: Guiding Sustainable Choices

The event will also feature the Texpertise Econogy programme, which identifies companies meeting strict sustainability and ethical standards. Around 120 exhibitors will carry this label, helping visitors navigate the growing market for responsible textile solutions.

In addition, Econogy Talks and guided tours will provide insights into best practices and emerging trends in sustainable textile manufacturing.

Driving the Future of Technical Textiles

By combining innovation in natural materials, recycling technologies, and sustainable business models, Techtextil 2026 reinforces its role as a leading platform for shaping the future of the global technical textiles industry.
