TEFC Jaipur Hosts Export Awareness Programme on FTAs

Textile Export Facilitation Centre Conducts Awareness Programme on FTAs and Government Schemes in Jaipur

The Textile Export Facilitation Centre (TEFC), under the Textiles Committee, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, organised an awareness programme on “Maximize the Export through FTAs and Govt. Schemes” at Hotel Marigold, Sitapura Industrial Area, Jaipur.

The programme brought together representatives from the textile industry, government departments, exporters, MSMEs and industry associations to discuss export promotion through Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and government support schemes.

The event was attended by Shri Kartikay Dhanda, Secretary, Textiles Committee, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, as the Chief Guest. Shri Dinesh Gupta, President of AGES, Shri Siddharth Gadhaiya, General Secretary of AGES, and Shri Rajeev Diwan, Mentor of AGES, attended as Guests of Honour.

Participants included officials from the Office of Commissioner, Industry and Commerce, MSME-DFO, exporters, industry associations and stakeholders from the garments, handloom and handicrafts sectors.

Focus on Export Growth

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Shri Govind Prasad, Deputy Director & Officer In-Charge, Regional Office of the Textiles Committee, Jaipur, who outlined the objectives of the awareness programme.

Delivering the keynote address, Shri Kartikay Dhanda highlighted the objectives of the Textile Export Facilitation Centre and emphasised the role of Free Trade Agreements, export facilitation services and government support mechanisms in enhancing textile exports.

He also highlighted Rajasthan’s potential in the textile and apparel sector and encouraged manufacturers and exporters to utilise opportunities available through FTAs and Central and State Government schemes. He stressed the importance of quality, innovation, value addition, sustainability and global competitiveness in expanding textile exports.

Expert Sessions on FTAs and Government Schemes

Shri J. Parameswaran, Deputy Director (EP&QA), Textiles Committee, Mumbai, delivered a presentation on India’s major Free Trade Agreements, preferential tariff benefits and strategies for increasing exports to FTA partner countries.

Shri Pankaj Rao, Assistant Commissioner, Office of Commissioner, Industry and Commerce, discussed export promotion initiatives of the Rajasthan Government, including assistance for participation in international trade fairs, buyer-seller meets, market intelligence, branding support and exporter guidance.

Shri Tarun Bhatnagar, Assistant Director, MSME, presented various schemes offered by the Ministry of MSME, including Udyam Registration benefits, collateral-free credit support, technology upgradation, entrepreneurship promotion, financial assistance, subsidies and support services available for MSMEs and textile enterprises.

Strong Industry Participation

The programme witnessed participation from nearly 100 representatives from textile manufacturing units, exporters, MSMEs, entrepreneurs, industry associations and other stakeholders from across Rajasthan.

The event was organised by the Regional Office of the Textiles Committee, Jaipur, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Vijay Babu Gaur, Quality Assurance Officer, Textiles Committee, who thanked the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour, speakers, participating departments and delegates for their contribution to the programme.
