The new VP/DMM for the PopShelf idea is named by Dollar General

Tenn.’s Goodlettsville –  A new VP/division merchandise manager has been appointed for Dollar General’s PopShelf concept, which sells higher-margin items.

Progressive Grocer and Supermarket News have reported that Shreeka Meadows has been promoted to the position by the company. Meadows, who joined DG 12 years ago, will be in charge of PopShelf’s distinctive assortment’s merchandising strategy, which includes in-demand seasonal and home décor items as well as staples for beauty.

The most recent position Meadow held was VP/DMM for clothing at Dollar General shops. She has also worked as a buyer and in merchandising for Sears Holdings and Mervyn’s.

DG declared in October that it has transformed its PopShelf into a new retail style that now offers a wider range of DIY products, books, cosmetics, home décor, and specialist pet items. The business ran 229 independent PopShelf outlets across 21 states as of last month. According to company leaders, the format may eventually expand to 100 stores. The company stated in its second-quarter 10Q filing that it intends to open an arbitrary number of Pop-Shelf stores in Mexico before to the fiscal year’s conclusion.

Meadow’s promotion was one of 13 new executives hired by Dollar General from a variety of business areas.
