Curves Are In: Why Designers Say Curvy Furniture Is the Must-Have Trend of the Year

Soft silhouettes, organic shapes, and timeless appeal curvy furniture is redefining home style in 2025.

There’s a design shift taking over living spaces across the globe: curvy furniture is no longer just a fleeting trend—it’s a full-blown style revolution. From rounded sofas and fluid coffee tables to organically shaped nightstands and accent chairs, this furniture trend is blending sculptural beauty with everyday functionality.

According to top interior designers from this year’s REAL SIMPLE Home, the appeal of curvy furniture lies in its ability to bring softness, movement, and visual interest to a space. These pieces effortlessly break up the monotony of boxy layouts, offering both comfort and aesthetic depth.

Drew Michael Scott, L.A.-based designer and founder of Lone Fox Home, champions the use of curves to make spaces feel more dynamic and personal. “There’s something about the way it flows into a space—less rigid, more adaptable to how you live and move within a room,” he explains. For those just getting started, Scott suggests experimenting with smaller items such as dressers or sideboards and balancing them with angular elements to avoid visual overload.

Candace Griffin, a Chicago-based designer and founder of Candace Mary Interiors, emphasizes the practicality of curves, particularly in kids’ rooms and high-traffic areas. “Curved pieces are not just beautiful they’re functional,” she says. “They soften a space, create focal points, and even reduce the risk of sharp-corner bumps, making them ideal for family homes.”

Meanwhile, New York-based home stager Jason Saft of Staged to Sell Home highlights how curvy furniture can elevate architectural features. “In rooms with existing curved lines, such as bay windows, rounded sofas fit like a dream. They enhance the space and create a cozy, custom-built look,” he notes. His favorite pairing? A curvy sofa with a round coffee table for perfect symmetry and flow.

Designers agree: introducing curvy furniture is also a clever way to foster conversation and connection. These pieces naturally invite a more intimate seating arrangement, making living areas feel warmer and more inviting.

Whether you’re furnishing a new home or simply looking to refresh your interiors, this trend offers endless possibilities. From oversized curved sectionals to modest ottomans and accent chairs, there are ways to explore curves at every budget. And if you’re not ready to commit to big pieces, start with accessories like sculptural vases, arched mirrors, or even a rounded rug to ease into the look.

As more homeowners embrace comfort and individuality, the curvy furniture trend proves it’s more than just a stylish moment—it’s a design philosophy for living better, softer, and more beautifully.
