New Delhi, December,9 — Trident Group, a leading player in the textiles industry, intends to invest Rs 3,000 crore in Madhya Pradesh to scale up its operations in the state, which will create 3,000 new jobs, announced Chairman Rajinder Gupta on Monday.
According to a regulatory filing, the vertically integrated textiles company based in Ludhiana now sources cotton for use in the state’s final products.
“A few years ago, we made an investment of Rs 5,000 crore in Madhya Pradesh. Speaking at the Madhya Pradesh Regional Industry Conclave, Gupta stated, “Our Madhya Pradesh finished products are exported to 122 countries today, and demand is constantly increasing.”
In the future, Gupta stated that the company “plans to invest an additional Rs 3,000 crore in the state’s textile sector which will expand employment opportunities here at Trident Group from the current 12,000 to over 15,000” .
“From sourcing cotton to producing finished goods, we are dedicated to making sure that the benefits of our operations remain within Madhya Pradesh,” he added. With enormous potential for the development of solar and wind energy, the state has the perfect combination of sustainability, inclusive growth, and green energy.
Gupta added that 50% of new job openings are earmarked for women, demonstrating the group’s emphasis on women’s empowerment and skill development.
