India’s Union Minister of Textiles, Giriraj Singh, officially launched Bharat Tex 2026, positioning the event as one of the world’s largest integrated textile trade fairs and a major platform for global sourcing, innovation and collaboration.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, the minister highlighted that Bharat Tex is envisioned as a comprehensive international platform that connects the entire textile value chain—from fibre and yarn to fabrics, garments, technical textiles and sustainable solutions.

He emphasised that the event reflects India’s ambition to strengthen its leadership in the global textile economy and reinforce the country’s position as a reliable sourcing and investment destination for the industry.

Large-scale participation expected

The upcoming edition of Bharat Tex 2026 will be held from 14–17 July 2026 at Bharat Mandapam.

Organisers expect the event to host:

  • More than 3,500 business exhibitors

  • Over 7,000 international buyers

  • Participants from more than 140 countries

  • Over 1,30,000 trade visitors

The exhibition will present the entire textile ecosystem, including fibres, yarns, fabrics, apparel, home textiles, technical textiles, handicrafts, handlooms and intelligent manufacturing technologies.

Platform for innovation and collaboration

Giriraj Singh noted that the event reflects the Prime Minister’s 5F vision — “Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion, Fashion to Foreign.” He also acknowledged the role of export promotion councils and industry organisations in bringing together the full textile value chain under one platform.

Senior government officials present at the launch included Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles India, and Rohit Kansal, Additional Secretary of the ministry, along with representatives from export promotion councils and industry bodies.

Industry-led global textile platform

The event will be organised by the Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF), an umbrella organisation comprising 11 textile export promotion councils and several industry associations.

Industry leaders including Naren Goenka, Chairman of BTTF, and Bhadresh Dodia, Co-Chairman of BTTF, highlighted the scale and activities planned for the event.

Focus on sustainability, MSMEs and innovation

Building on the success of the previous editions held in 2024 and 2025, Bharat Tex 2026 will combine exhibitions, knowledge sessions, reverse buyer–seller meets and policy dialogues to encourage industry collaboration.

Key focus areas of the event will include:

  • Sustainable and circular textiles

  • Technical textiles

  • MSME participation and integration

  • Innovation and new technologies

  • Global market access

The platform will also enable Indian MSMEs, startups, designers, and academic institutions to showcase innovations, connect with international buyers and establish new partnerships.

Global Textile Dialogue

A major highlight of the event will be the Global Textile Dialogue, which will feature a series of discussions involving policymakers, industry leaders and innovators.

These sessions will focus on key themes shaping the textile industry, including global trade dynamics, ESG standards, Industry 5.0, technical textiles and resilient supply chains.

Organisers say the initiative aims to generate insights and practical outcomes for global industry stakeholders and Indian textile enterprises.
