Veolia commemorated a significant milestone in India with the celebration of 25 years at its Hoskote facility near Bangalore, alongside the inauguration of a new Customer Experience Center and the launch of a solar-powered decarbonization initiative.

Over the past quarter century, the Hoskote plant has evolved into a global hub for membrane manufacturing, specialty chemicals, and advanced water technologies. Today, it exports to more than 20 countries and is supported by a Technology Center that has developed over 100 patents, reinforcing its position as a center of innovation and engineering excellence.

The newly launched Customer Experience Center sets a new benchmark for customer engagement in South Asia. Designed as an interactive and collaborative platform, it enables co-creation, knowledge sharing, and digital innovation. The facility showcases Veolia’s advanced water technologies, including remote monitoring systems, data analytics, and smart solutions, while also offering training capabilities for up to 50 participants.

As part of its sustainability commitment, Veolia has also installed solar panels at the Hoskote site. This initiative aligns with the company’s GreenUp strategy and is expected to reduce over 600 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, demonstrating a strong push towards decarbonizing its operations.

Anne Le Guennec, CEO of Veolia’s water technologies activities, said:
“India holds a unique place in Veolia’s global strategy, not only as a dynamic market, but as a true center of excellence for engineering, digital innovation and manufacturing. Today’s milestones at Hoskote reflect 25 years of dedication, talent and ambition, in line with our GreenUp strategic program. Water is at the heart of environmental security, and as India faces growing water challenges, we are committed to delivering the technologies and solutions that will help cities and industries become more resilient, more efficient and more sustainable.”

Established in 2001, the Hoskote facility has grown into a key innovation center driven by skilled engineers and scientists working on cutting-edge water solutions. Its strategic location near Bangalore supports access to a strong talent pool and engineering ecosystem.

The Customer Experience Center further enhances Veolia’s ability to engage with clients through immersive demonstrations and direct interaction with experts. It also highlights service capabilities such as onsite engineering, remote inspections, auditing, and operator training—creating a comprehensive platform for industry collaboration.

Veolia continues to strengthen its presence in India as the largest industrial water company in South Asia, having delivered more than 500 projects across municipal and industrial sectors. Its expertise spans drinking water systems, sewage treatment, and zero liquid discharge solutions.

Recent projects in Mumbai, including the Bandra wastewater treatment plant—one of India’s largest greenfield facilities using membrane bioreactor technology—and the Bhandup drinking water plant upgrade featuring smart clarifier systems, underline Veolia’s growing role in urban water infrastructure.

Irshaad Hakim, Executive Vice President of Veolia’s water technologies activities in Asia Pacific, said:
“South Asia faces a pivotal moment in its pursuit of water security. The magnitude of the challenge, from declining groundwater to undertreated municipal wastewater, demands bold, scalable solutions. Veolia’s track record in India proves that we have both the expertise and commitment to make a lasting difference. Our goal is clear: to deliver performance and sustainability while supporting safe, healthy communities across the region.”

With innovation, sustainability, and customer collaboration at its core, Veolia’s Hoskote facility continues to play a vital role in advancing global water technologies and supporting India’s environmental and infrastructure goals.
