Along with other retailers who won competitions at the national level, the top window award winners will be recognized at the next Inspired Home Show.

Chicago Earlier this month, the Global Honorees for the Gia Top Window Awards were announced by the International Housewares Association (IHA) and the Inspired Home Show, the global sponsors and organizers of the IHA Global Innovation Awards (Gia) program.

Derek Miller, president and CEO of IHA, stated, “IHA is extremely proud to have recognized the best in home + housewares retailing for more than 20 years through the Gia Awards – 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the Gia Global Innovation Awards.” The originality and enthusiasm that businesses are putting into their window displays is tremendously exciting, as evidenced by the 15 countries who entered the most recent Gia Top Window Awards competition.

The retailers listed below are among this year’s honorees:

Category of small business: Milly’s, New Zealand
Category of small business: Uruguay’s Bazaar-La Barra
category of large companies, Loeb AG, Switzerland
Harrods, a large enterprise in the United Kingdom

Miller continued, “We are excited to have the four Gia Top Window Award winners at The Inspired Home Show in Chicago.” “As well as over 30 other retailers who have taken first place in other Gia national competitions.”

One of Gia’s unique award programs is the Gia Top Window Award. Similar to the general Gia Retail Awards, there are two levels to the Top Window Award competition: national and international. Worldwide housewares trade journals that support national Gia programs in their various nations and nominate the top windows for the international competition are co-sponsoring the country-specific Gia programs with the IHA.

Four Gia expert jurors, Anne Kong, Scott Kohno, Henrik Peter Reisby Nielsen, and Wolfgang Gruschwitz, made up the worldwide jury, which assessed windows of homes and kitchenware from all over the globe using the following criteria:

Creativity and originality in terms of topic, concept, and special effects

Presentation of merchandise

Execution, professionalism, and technical elements (signage, copy, lighting, and attention to detail)

Along with the other Gia winners of 2024–2025, the four Gia Top Window Global Honorees of 2024 will be honored at a celebratory awards banquet on March 2, 2025, and invited to the Inspired Home Show 2025 in Chicago.

The Inspired Home Show and the IHA developed the Gia program to promote quality and innovation in home and housewares shopping globally. More than 550 Gia retail award winners from 55 countries across six continents have emerged since Gia’s 2000 inception.

The IHA’s worldwide home and housewares event, the Inspired Home Show, will take place at Chicago’s McCormick Place Complex from March 2-4, 2025.
