‘BREATHE UP!’ theme, new lifestyle zone and expanded product categories to shape Autumn Edition 2026 in Shanghai
Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Autumn Edition 2026 will highlight future-focused design trends and changing consumer preferences as the global home and lifestyle sector continues adapting to sustainability priorities, emotional well-being, and multifunctional living environments.
Scheduled from 18 – 20 August 2026 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, the exhibition will introduce its latest trend concept, ‘BREATHE UP!’, developed in collaboration with NellyRodi™ Agency. The event will also feature expanded product categories and launch the new Home Textiles Lifestyle Zone.
The fair is positioned as a sourcing and business platform amid evolving market conditions shaped by greener consumption policies in China, increasing demand for home-centric lifestyles, and consumer interest in multifunctional and emotionally connected interiors. These developments will be reflected across four exhibition halls through curated installations and exhibitor showcases aligned with emerging market preferences.
Trend Concept Focuses on Emotional Well-Being and Living Spaces
The 2027 trend directions were developed by a committee led by Nelly Rodi, alongside Cécile Rosenstrauch and Shen Lei.
At the fair, ‘BREATHE UP!’ will be presented through a dedicated trend area featuring immersive installations and curated spaces designed to preview upcoming interior and textile directions.
According to the organisers, the concept explores how design can support emotional well-being, reconnect individuals with their surroundings, and encourage new creative approaches to home environments. The theme reflects a broader transition from purely functional interiors toward spaces designed to support both physical and emotional comfort.
Three Key Textile Directions Highlighted
The ‘BREATHE UP!’ concept will be structured around three textile directions:
- RE-DECORATE focuses on expressive interiors using bold aesthetics, layered textures, and artisanal craftsmanship to encourage individuality and creativity in living spaces.
- RE-CONNECT highlights minimalist and mindful interiors that combine simple design with intelligent functionality to create calm and restorative environments.
- RE-USE explores circular design approaches through recycled materials and innovative production processes, positioning sustainability as both functional and aesthetic.
New Lifestyle Zone Expands Product Offering
To address growing demand for integrated lifestyle products and wellness-oriented living spaces, the fair will introduce the Home Textiles Lifestyle Zone. The area will feature categories including carpets, wallpapers, aromatherapy products, and home accessories.
Highlighted exhibitors in the new zone include Simple Home and Zhejiang Nine home Co Ltd.
According to the organisers, the addition reflects increasing convergence between home textiles and broader lifestyle categories, as consumers seek more cohesive and experience-driven interiors. The new zone also expands sourcing opportunities for buyers across both traditional home textile products and complementary home décor segments.
Expanded Commerce Product Scope
The exhibition will also broaden its commerce product scope in response to growth in digital retail and e-commerce-driven consumer behaviour. Organisers stated that the expansion aims to help exhibitors connect with new customer groups and adapt to increasing integration of online retail tools into brand strategies.
Focus on Sustainability and Contract Business
Aligned with China’s policy direction toward sustainable development, green consumption, and commercial refurbishment, the fair will place additional focus on exhibitors specialising in contract business and eco-friendly solutions.
The initiative is intended to support growing demand from hospitality, contract, and public-sector buyers seeking low-carbon, wellness-oriented, and future-ready interior solutions.
