Pillows are becoming more than just an accessory purchase at Bel Furniture, with the Houston-based retailer reporting strong results from Spring Air’s Sleep Copper pillow collection.

The 14-store retailer said the program has helped drive mattress attachment sales while also attracting customers interested in sleep wellness products. According to Spring Air, the collection generated more than 5,000 unit sales within its first 60 days at retail.

Bel Furniture carries two models from the Sleep Copper pillow lineup in its mattress departments, merchandising them alongside Spring Air’s Sleep Copper mattress collection. Retail prices start at $249.

“This is a gamechanger,” said Troy Simmons, general manager of operations at Bel Furniture. “Pillows that match mattress technology is an instant add-on, and these pillows are the perfect addition to our Copper collection by Spring Air.”

The collection includes the Copper Freeze memory foam pillow, designed specifically for side sleepers with a shoulder cutout intended to support proper neck and shoulder alignment. A standard-loft version is also available for back and side sleepers. Both models feature ventilated latex cores and copper-infused materials designed to improve airflow and temperature regulation during sleep.

In addition to the Sleep Copper models, Bel Furniture offers Spring Air’s Back Supporter Surround ventilated latex pillow, which retails for $199.

Spring Air said the pillow program was developed to provide mattress retailers with an effective attachment opportunity while also creating a stand-alone sleep accessories category capable of attracting consumers who may not currently be shopping for a new mattress.

Nick Bates, president and CEO of Spring Air, said the company is encouraged by the program’s early performance, particularly as retailers seek ways to generate sales beyond major furniture and mattress purchases.

“As we head into the summer months, the key for all retailers is engaging consumers, especially those who may be hesitant about making big-ticket purchases,” Bates said. “We’re extremely encouraged by the launch of the pillow program, and the hotter it gets, the more attractive the Copper advanced temperature regulation story becomes. Wrapped in eye-catching covers that draw attention on the retail floor, the pillows’ anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties give RSAs more to talk about. And given the success of the program out of the gate, consumers are demonstrating they are more interested in health and wellness than ever before.”

The pillow collection expands upon Spring Air’s broader Sleep Copper mattress line, which focuses on wellness-oriented sleep solutions and temperature-regulating technologies. The early success of the program highlights growing consumer interest in products designed to enhance sleep quality while providing retailers with additional opportunities to increase average transaction values.
