New Digital Printing Platform Targets Footwear, Automotive and Performance Textile Applications

Kornit Digital has introduced the Kornit Presto MAX PLUS, a next-generation roll-to-roll digital textile production system designed to expand digital manufacturing into footwear, automotive interiors, military camouflage, high-performance sportswear and premium furnishings.

The new platform, unveiled ahead of Texprocess 2026 in Frankfurt, builds on the company’s established Presto MAX technology and opens new opportunities for sustainable, on-demand production across a wider range of textile applications.

The fully digital, single-step system eliminates the need for extensive setup processes, supports the industry’s broadest range of fabrics and removes minimum order quantity requirements. It also offers water-free printing without pre- or post-washing, helping manufacturers significantly reduce waste, energy consumption and environmental impact while maintaining high retail-quality print performance and fabric hand feel.

DuraTech Enhances Durability for High-Performance Applications

A key innovation in the Presto MAX PLUS is DuraTech™, a new durability enhancement technology developed to provide resistance against wear, flexing and abrasion. This capability makes the system suitable for demanding applications such as footwear uppers, technical apparel, automotive interiors and performance textiles.

The platform also incorporates patent-pending Precise Overprint technology, which automatically adapts to variations in materials and ensures accurate image placement on complex, pre-knitted and dimensionally unstable substrates.

These capabilities have already been validated through collaborations with footwear manufacturers, where the technology enables digital application of proprietary functional inks that can deliver enhanced abrasion resistance, compression, protection and other performance characteristics.

Expanding the Possibilities of Digital Manufacturing

Commenting on the launch, Ronen Samuel, CEO of Kornit Digital, said:

“Digital production is entering a new phase of industrial adoption, expanding into high-performance categories that require durability, precision and consistency at scale. Presto MAX PLUS extends the boundaries of what digital manufacturing can achieve, enabling brands and manufacturers to unlock new applications, operate with greater agility, and accelerate the shift toward a more sustainable production model.”

The system also offers several advanced features, including white ink printing on dyed fabrics, expanded colour gamuts with Red/Green and Neon inks, and Kornit’s XDi Technology, which creates unique three-dimensional visual effects.

To ensure consistent output quality, the platform integrates QualiSet automation technology, providing hands-free calibration and repeatable production results across different manufacturing locations and production runs.

Upgrade Path for Existing Customers

Kornit confirmed that existing users of Presto MAX systems will be able to upgrade to Presto MAX PLUS capabilities, allowing them to expand into new markets and applications while maximizing the value of their current investments.

The official unveiling of the Kornit Presto MAX PLUS takes place at Texprocess 2026 on April 21, where visitors can explore the technology at Hall 8, Stand A20. The launch marks another step forward in the evolution of digital textile manufacturing, bringing sustainable and flexible production capabilities to a broader range of high-performance textile sectors.
