NIFT Mumbai Showcases Innovation and Industry Collaboration at HGH India 2026

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Mumbai participated in the 19th edition of HGH India 2026, highlighting its academic excellence, research capabilities, sustainability initiatives, and industry collaborations at India’s leading trade exhibition for home textiles, home décor, gifts, and houseware.

The exhibition was held from June 30 to July 3, 2026, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (NESCO), Goregaon, Mumbai, bringing together industry professionals from across the home and lifestyle sector.

Platform for Industry Engagement

HGH India 2026 attracted 43,920 trade buyers from more than 700 cities and towns across India, along with 32 international participants representing home product retailers, modern trade, e-commerce and quick commerce brands, OEM buyers, architects, interior designers, distributors, and institutional buyers.

The event featured initiatives such as:

  • Trend Forecasts
  • H-Circle Product Innovation Awards
  • HGH India Interactive
  • Indian Heritage Pavilion
  • Sustainability Pavilion

These focus areas closely aligned with NIFT Mumbai’s emphasis on design innovation, sustainability, and industry engagement.

Showcasing Academic Excellence

At its dedicated exhibition stall, NIFT Mumbai presented its key academic and research initiatives, including:

  • Regular Academic Programmes
  • Continuing Education Programmes (CEP)
  • Craft Cluster Initiatives
  • National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM) Project
  • Innovative student projects

The showcase reflected the institute’s multidisciplinary approach to design education, technology, sustainability, innovation, and industry collaboration.

Visit by Textile Commissioner

The NIFT Mumbai stall was visited by Smt. Vrunda Manohar Desai, IRS, Textile Commissioner, Government of India, who appreciated the institute’s efforts in promoting its academic programmes, research projects, craft interventions, and collaborations with industry.

The exhibition also provided an opportunity to engage with manufacturers, exporters, retailers, entrepreneurs, designers, prospective students, and parents, encouraging dialogue on future collaborations in education, research, innovation, and skill development.
