LANXESS has inaugurated a new blending facility at its manufacturing site in Jhagadia, Gujarat, marking a significant step in expanding its lubricant additives business in the region.
In its first phase, the plant will focus on producing specialty lubricant additives, catering to customers across India, the Middle East, and other key global markets. The facility has been developed with a strong emphasis on safety, energy efficiency, and environmentally responsible operations.
The new plant enhances LANXESS’ regional capabilities, enabling faster delivery, improved customer responsiveness, and closer technical collaboration as demand for advanced lubricant solutions continues to grow.
Dr. Hubert Fink highlighted India’s importance as a key growth market.

In addition to the plant inauguration, LANXESS has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to bring advanced technologies to the Indian market. The company has also initiated third-party manufacturing activities for its lubricant additives business in India.
With this development, LANXESS reinforces its long-term commitment to India as a strategic hub for growth while continuing to deliver high-performance chemical solutions for mobility and industrial applications globally.
