PanIIT Alumni India, the apex body representing alumni from all 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), has announced the appointment of Dr Amitabh Ranjan as Vice Chairman and Rajeev Singh as General Secretary for its 2026–28 Executive Council. The appointments strengthen the organisation’s national leadership as it continues to expand its engagement across technology, entrepreneurship, education and public policy.

Dr Amitabh Ranjan, who currently serves as Registrar at the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi, is a petroleum engineering graduate with extensive experience in governance and public administration. During his tenure with the Government of Uttar Pradesh, he played a key role in the digitisation of the state’s Transport Department through the “Vahan” vehicle registration and “Sarathi” driving licence platforms, which are now implemented across India. He has also been an active contributor to PanIIT initiatives, moderating and participating in discussions on public governance, knowledge systems, energy, renewable energy and climate.

Rajeev Singh, currently Chief General Manager at Engineers India Limited, has been actively associated with PanIIT Alumni India for several years. He has contributed to organising numerous flagship events and alumni engagement initiatives and now assumes the role of General Secretary as the organisation continues to broaden its national and international presence.

The newly elected office bearers join Chairman Prabhat Kumar, IRS, and Treasurer Ashish Kela, CFA, on the Executive Council, which represents a global community of more than five lakh IIT alumni, supported by active chapters across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Korea, Singapore and Australia.

Commenting on the appointments, Prabhat Kumar, Chairman of PanIIT Alumni India, said Dr Amitabh Ranjan and Rajeev Singh have made significant contributions to the PanIIT movement over the years. He noted that their leadership would further strengthen alumni collaboration, thought leadership and initiatives supporting nation-building.

Speaking after his election, Dr Amitabh Ranjan said it was a privilege to take on the responsibility within an organisation that has consistently channelled the expertise of the IIT community towards public good. He added that he looks forward to working with the Executive Council to deepen engagement in public policy, governance and national development.

Rajeev Singh said PanIIT has always been driven by the collective efforts of its volunteers and alumni. As General Secretary, he aims to strengthen the organisation’s network and foster closer collaboration among chapters, initiatives and members to advance shared objectives.

PanIIT Alumni India serves as the umbrella organisation for alumni of all IITs, promoting collaboration, innovation, entrepreneurship and public service. Through its flagship summits and nationwide initiatives, the organisation continues to facilitate partnerships and programmes that contribute to technology advancement, education and national development.
