Hanane Taidi takes charge of bluesign as the organisation focuses on verified data, regulatory readiness and measurable impact across textile production.
bluesign, which works with the textile industry to reduce adverse impacts across the value chain, has appointed Hanane Taidi as Chief Executive Officer. The leadership change comes as the organisation prepares for its next phase of growth amid changing regulatory and sustainability requirements.
An SGS company, bluesign has built more than 25 years of experience in responsible textile production and is recognised for its system designed to support strict safety and environmental standards. As regulatory frameworks develop and industry expectations around transparency and accountability increase, the organisation is placing greater focus on compliance, verified data and practical implementation.
Taidi brings more than two decades of leadership experience across sustainability, public affairs and strategic communications. She most recently served as Director General of TIC Council, the international representative body for the testing, inspection and certification industry.
During her tenure, Taidi led cross-regional strategy across Europe, the United States, China and India and oversaw the integration of two major global organisations into a single international body.
Her experience across the testing, inspection and certification ecosystem aligns with bluesign’s role in supporting responsible textile production. Taidi has also worked closely with regulatory bodies and has served as a European Commission expert since 2014.
As the textile industry responds to frameworks including CSRD and ESPR, bluesign said its system approach will continue to focus on connecting supply chain partners and providing independent verification to support measurable environmental performance.
As CEO, Taidi will focus on expanding bluesign’s existing capabilities and strengthening its role in a changing regulatory and market environment. Her priorities include improving access to verified data across manufacturing tiers, deepening collaboration across the System Partner network and converting complex regulatory requirements into practical solutions for brands and manufacturers.
“bluesign has built a powerful foundation rooted in science and trust,” said Hanane Taidi, CEO, bluesign. “The opportunity ahead is to scale that impact, giving the industry the tools, data, and systems needed to turn responsibility into measurable progress.”
Since its establishment, bluesign has followed an end-to-end approach to textile production, covering chemical inputs through to finished products and focusing on continuous improvement. Under Taidi’s leadership, the organisation will continue supporting industry partners in addressing rising expectations around transparency, accountability and verified environmental performance.
