TechnoSport, India’s largest activewear brand, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu for an investment of ₹130 crore towards the Phase 2 expansion of its existing manufacturing facility in Erode. The agreement was signed at the Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026 in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay.

The expansion will focus on strengthening TechnoSport’s functional activewear manufacturing capabilities and is expected to create more than 500 jobs in the region. The investment is part of the company’s broader strategy to scale its manufacturing infrastructure and support the growing demand for performance-led activewear in India.

Manufacturing Capacity to Reach 40 Tonnes Per Day

As part of Phase 2, TechnoSport plans to increase its activewear fabric manufacturing capacity from the current 25 tonnes per day to 40 tonnes per day by the end of FY27. The expanded facility will strengthen the company’s ability to develop and manufacture functional activewear at greater scale while maintaining control over quality, production and speed to market.

Commenting on the announcement, Sunil Jhunjhunwala, Co-founder & Managing Director, TechnoSport, said, “Tamil Nadu has been an important part of TechnoSport’s manufacturing journey. As we grow, we believe scale should create value beyond products by generating employment, strengthening manufacturing capabilities and contributing to the wider ecosystem around us. This ₹130 crore investment in Erode represents another important step in that journey. We thank the Government of Tamil Nadu for its continued support and partnership as we build the next phase of TechnoSport’s growth in the state.”

Vertically Integrated Manufacturing Model

TechnoSport has built its business around a vertically integrated manufacturing model, providing greater control over fabric development, production, quality and speed to market. Manufacturing investments remain central to the brand’s strategy as it seeks to make functional and performance-oriented activewear accessible to a wider consumer base across India.

The company currently reaches consumers through more than 16,000 retail touchpoints across 20+ states, supported by a network of 40+ super stockists. Its retail footprint also includes 66+ exclusive brand outlets (EBOs) across the country.

TechnoSport is targeting approximately 130 EBOs by the end of FY27, alongside the expansion of its TechnoSport Express format to 25 stores. The brand currently sells more than 25 million units annually, highlighting its growing presence across both established and emerging Indian markets.

TechnoSport Targets ₹1,000 Crore Revenue in FY27

TechnoSport closed FY26 with revenue of approximately ₹600 crore and is targeting ₹1,000 crore in FY27. The company’s next phase of growth is expected to be supported by continued investments across manufacturing, retail, distribution and technology.

The ₹130-crore Erode expansion is therefore positioned as a key component of TechnoSport’s broader growth strategy, combining increased manufacturing capacity with employment generation and an expanding retail and distribution network across India.
