Electronics for Imaging (EFI) and Agfa-Gevaert have signed a definitive agreement to combine Agfa’s Digital Printing Solutions (Agfa DPS) business with EFI. The transaction will create a broader industrial inkjet company with expanded technology capabilities, geographic reach and customer support.
Under the agreement, an affiliate of Siris will hold a 60% interest, while Agfa will hold 40% in the jointly held company. Siris and Agfa will act as equal partners under the new governance structure.
The deal builds on a global partnership established by EFI and Agfa in 2024. That partnership allowed both companies to access complementary technologies and expand their product offerings.
The combined business will bring together expertise in print engines, inks, software and workflow. It will serve customers across several industrial inkjet applications, including packaging, textiles, décor and display graphics.
EFI has strong capabilities in digital single-pass, roll-to-roll, hybrid and textile printing. Its portfolio includes the Nozomi, VUTEK and Reggiani platforms.
Agfa DPS brings expertise in display graphics, décor and packaging. Its portfolio includes the Jeti TAURO, Onset PANTHERA and SpeedSet ORCA platforms.
Together, EFI and Agfa DPS expect to generate approximately €540 million ($625 million) in revenue in 2026 on a pro forma basis. The combined business will serve thousands of customers across more than 100 countries.
The companies also expect the combination to create cross-selling opportunities. Greater scale could support expansion into new applications and geographic markets.
The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026. It remains subject to regulatory approvals, employee consultation processes and other customary closing conditions.
