Heimtextil has partnered with Downtown Design Dubai for the first time to showcase its latest interior design trends. The presentation features the Heimtextil Trends 27/28, developed with Milan-based design platform Alcova. The event takes place from November 4 to 8, 2026, during Dubai Design Week.
The presentation introduces the theme ‘The Performance of Everyday Living’. It explores how interior spaces can improve everyday life through better functionality, comfort and design. The display uses films, texts and visual elements to share key trend insights with international and regional design professionals.
Downtown Design is a leading design fair in the Middle East. It brings together designers, brands, architects and industry professionals. The region’s growing hospitality sector is also creating demand for quality materials, innovative interiors and textile solutions.
Through this partnership, Heimtextil aims to strengthen its presence in the Middle East. The collaboration also connects international design trends with the needs of regional designers and hospitality businesses.
The Heimtextil Trends 27/28 focus on how spaces can become more functional without compromising comfort or visual appeal. These ideas are relevant to residential interiors, hotels and commercial spaces.
Mette Degn-Christensen, Director of Downtown Design, highlighted the importance of connecting regional design professionals with the global creative industry. She also noted the relevance of materials, craftsmanship and practical design solutions.
Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles and Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt, said the Middle East continues to influence interior design and hospitality. He also highlighted Dubai’s role as an international meeting point for the design community.
The presentation marks another step in Heimtextil’s efforts to build stronger connections with the region’s interior design and hospitality sectors.
Meanwhile, Heimtextil 2027 will take place from January 12 to 15, 2027, in Frankfurt, Germany.
