Los Angeles Caramelized, a warm terracotta brown, has been selected as Dunn-Edwards’ 2025 Color of the Year.

To choose the defining color for the upcoming year, the company’s color experts looked at new trends in fashion, technology, lifestyle, and culture.

According to Lauren Hoferkamp, lead color specialist at Dunn-Edwards, “we find ourselves drawn to more saturated and timeless colors in the current fast-paced, high-tech age to create personal spaces that feel welcoming, stylish, and grounded.” “Caramelized emerged as a clear representation of this new year when considering the draw to a mindset of ‘old is new.'”

According to Hoferkamp, caramelized enables us to combine elements from our favorite design moments to reimagine our present with items from the past and the future we wish to build.

The firm has released an immersive video portrayal of Caramelized at Dunn-Edwards online, building on the inspiration and use of its Color of the Year.
