Pratteln, Switzerland, January, 2024 – Archroma, a global leader in specialty chemicals for sustainable solutions, has become a member of the BioCircular Materials Alliance. This initiative, led by biomaterials pioneer Spiber Inc., aims to accelerate the fashion industry’s shift toward circular and sustainable business models.
The Alliance brings together leading fashion brands, manufacturers, and suppliers to promote the adoption of bio-based textile materials and chemical treatments. Key milestones include the development of a Materials BioCircularity Database, which will enable brands and mills to assess the impact of their fiber, dye, and chemical choices on the recyclability of finished products.
Archroma’s PLANET CONSCIOUS+ vision aligns seamlessly with the Alliance’s mission, driving the company to collaborate with industry leaders to foster a circular ecosystem. With a strong focus on sustainability, Archroma develops innovative dyes, chemicals, and processes designed to:
- Improve the environmental impact of textile production.
- Deliver safer, more durable, and recyclable apparel and textiles.
- Enhance value for brands, manufacturers, and consumers.
Archroma joins forces with prominent organizations like Stella McCartney, Marzotto Wool Manufacturing Srl, Fashion for Good, and 13 others, becoming one of only two dyes and chemical suppliers in the Alliance.
