New operations in Sharjah and London to support sourcing, design and global market access
Arvind Limited has announced the launch of Arvind Atelier, its wholly owned subsidiary based in the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone), along with the opening of a dedicated Design Hub in London.
According to the company, the expansion is aimed at strengthening its global operating model by integrating design, sourcing and manufacturing capabilities across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and the Americas.
“This expansion marks an important milestone in Arvind’s global growth journey.” said Punit Lalbhai. “By bringing design, sourcing and execution closer to key international markets, we are enhancing our ability to deliver speed, flexibility, quality and responsible manufacturing solutions to global brands.” he added.
Rakesh Chadha has been appointed Managing Director of Arvind Atelier. The company stated that he brings more than three decades of experience in apparel sourcing, supply chain management and international business development.
In his role, he will oversee customer engagement, sourcing operations, regional business development and strategic partnerships across the UK, Europe and the Middle East, while also supporting integrated teams focused on design, product development and operations.
“London will serve as a strategic hub connecting Arvind’s innovation capabilities with Europe’s dynamic fashion ecosystem. The model is designed to enable closer collaboration with customers and support faster, market-responsive product development.” said Rakesh Chadha.
The company stated that the London Design Hub will focus on customer engagement, trend insights and product development, while the UAE-based Arvind Atelier platform will coordinate sourcing, manufacturing integration, logistics and regional market access.
Arvind Atelier will function as an integrated sourcing platform covering denim, casual wear, shirts, knits, sweaters, essentials and activewear categories.
According to Arvind Limited, its garmenting division produced approximately 37 million pieces during FY25, while woven fabric production reached approximately 128 million metres. The company also stated that its annual denim fabric manufacturing capacity exceeds 110 million metres.
The expansion comes amid continued growth opportunities in Europe and the MENA region. The company cited data from CBI indicating that Europe imported approximately €180.5 billion worth of apparel in 2024, while Deep Market Insights estimated the Middle East and Africa fashion apparel market at approximately USD 172 billion in 2025.
The launch of the London hub also aligns with the expected implementation of the UK–India Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, which is anticipated to support bilateral trade opportunities for India’s textile and apparel industry.
