Global Stakeholders Unite in Dubai to Strengthen Anti-Counterfeiting Strategies and Ensure Safer Supply Chains
The Authentication Solution Providers’ Association (ASPA) is set to host a pivotal Open House event on 24 April 2025 at Anantara Downtown Dubai, beginning 5:00 PM onwards. This high-level gathering aims to bring together global and regional stakeholders to confront the growing threat of counterfeit products and champion authenticity, traceability, and consumer protection across the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
Open to solution providers, brand owners, regulators, innovators, and brand protection experts, the event will provide a powerful platform for dialogue and collaboration on safeguarding product integrity and restoring consumer trust in global supply chains.
The event will open with a keynote by Mr. Manoj Kochar, President of ASPA,
who will share global insights into authentication technologies, sector challenges, and the growing momentum behind anti-counterfeiting initiatives. This will be followed by a region-specific address by Mr. Ranesh Bajaj, Chairperson of ASPA’s MEA Chapter, offering tailored perspectives on the unique dynamics of the MEA region.
Tackling the Growing Threat of Counterfeits
From pharmaceuticals to luxury goods, counterfeit products continue to disrupt economies, endanger public safety, and undermine brand credibility. Experts at the Open House will explore the critical role of advanced authentication and traceability solutions—including AI-driven systems, blockchain technologies, and physical security features like overt packaging—in combating the counterfeit trade.
The discussion will highlight the urgent need to extend these innovations to rural and underserved markets, where conventional authentication methods may fall short, and ensure that solutions are both accessible and scalable.
“This is not just about one sector or one region—it’s about restoring trust in the products we use every day,” said Mr. Manoj Kochar, President, ASPA. “Through cross-border collaboration, we can build a stronger, more secure global supply chain. The Dubai Open House is a step in that direction.”
Building on Global Engagement
The Dubai Open House follows ASPA’s successful international engagement at Drupa 2024 in Germany, where over 40 delegates gathered to discuss global anti-counterfeiting strategies. That success reaffirmed the need for focused regional engagement, particularly in MEA—a region deeply integrated with global trade and equally impacted by counterfeiting.
“The MEA region has its own unique challenges and opportunities,” said Mr. Ranesh Bajaj, Chairperson, ASPA MEA Chapter. “This Open House is about fostering meaningful connections and helping local businesses adopt global best practices in authentication and brand protection.”
A Call to Action
Authentication and traceability solutions are no longer optional—they are essential tools for ensuring consumer safety, business integrity, and economic security. ASPA invites all stakeholders, innovators, and brand custodians to attend the Open House and contribute to the collective mission of building transparent, trusted, and resilient markets.
